[Plugin: Social Connect] ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR and URL file-access disabled

    I use WP 3.0.1 anda have to wait for “superior instances” for a update (have no access to FTP, just to WP-admin). So changing PHP settings is obviously not an option. PHP is 5.2.17.

    The problem is I got a SSL error page when I try to connect with Google, Yahoo or WordPress and a “URL file acces is disabled…” wich I can’t solve opening fopen as I’ve explained above. Twitter gives me no error, but don’t gives me a login either. The login window gets the blog content (instead closing) without gets logged.

    It’s possible all of it not to be the same problem? Can I take this plugin working without access to php.ini?

    No unfortunately, you need to be able to enable all required extensions.

    Ok. Excuse-me if I need ask for more details. What exactly do you mean by saying “required extensions” and where could I find a list with this requirements to the plugin?
    Also, I must know if opening “php fopen” would be bad for security in some way. (That’s the allegation from the hosting service people)
