[Plugin: SmugMug for WordPress] Why use SM gallery instead of a standard post?

This plugin looks very promising, but I do have one major hangup with it: it doesn’t use a standard “post” but rather this “SM gallery”. Although an SM gallery is otherwise similar to a post, there is really no good way to migrate existing content without creating new SM galleries. (I also fear having all my content locked into SM galleries in case I need to stop using this plugin.) I prefer WP-SmugMug’s design in this regard.

Hopefully, progress is still being made on the rewrite, and this request can be incorporated into the rewrite!
