After uninstall and drop all tables and options entries, and reinstall this plugin, I manage to make it work. I think upgrade is not fully functioning

We tested Smooth Slider 2.3.2 on 3 – 4 different servers and it is running fine on all of them. Some users are reporting issue at the time of upgrade, but we have fixed that as well in 2.3.2, but still there is some issue with some servers for database communication. In that case, one can deactivate and re-activate the plugin from plugin admin panel.

In case it still doesn’t work, Just deactivate and delete the plugin from plugin admin panel and re-install it. Once it will install properly on your server, you will not face any issue.

Thanks Choibc for sharing your experience.

    Hi,

My smooth slider works in the admin section and shows the preview correctly but wont work when I add it to the frontend. It shows the first screen and all slide numbers but the numbers do nothing when clicked.

Mousing over the numbers shows javascript:stepcarousel.stepTo(‘smooth_sliderc’, 2)
    etc, but doesnt do anything.

Also next and previous buttons are missing even thoug they show up when I view > source:
    defaultbuttons: {enable: true, moveby: 1, leftnav: [‘https://www.midwestphysio.ie/wp-content/plugins/smooth-slider/images/button_prev.png’, -25, 105], rightnav: [‘https://www.midwestphysio.ie/wp-content/plugins/smooth-slider/images/button_next.png’, 0, 105]},

I have deactivated all other plugins without success.
I have de-activated, deleted and re-installed smooth slider without success.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Mark

I’m having the exact same problem. I’ve tried all of the steps that Markol tried and it still doesn’t work. This issue is definitely not resolved. Please help! This is a fabulous plugin, except for the slider issue.

    Hello,

Just wanted to write an update as to how I ended up fixing this. There is nothing wrong with the plugin. What was happening on my blog was a javascript conflict which was coming from the jquery being loaded twice in the header. I checked my header section, but didn’t notice two jquery loads, so I went to my W3 Total Cache plugin where I had some .js being minified by the plugin. I deleted all of the java files that I was having minified by the plugin and the Smooth Slider plugin started to work. Hope this helps anyone who was having problems with the sliding action!

I was having the same issue with smooth slider with w3 total cache installed. i checked my minify settings in W3 total cache and disabled a couple of options and all of my sliders immediately started working again.

    description:
in your minify settings simply go to the ‘javascript’ section and disable (uncheck) both ‘Comment removal’ and ‘Line break removal’

after that sliders should work fine again.. you shouldn’t need to unlink any of your .js files.

see a screenshot of the settings changes here
