[Plugin: Smooth Accordion] Accordion won't expand properly

I’ve been working on my new webiste https://wildlifevagabond.com/ using the fantastic Borderland theme by Elated Themes.

I have spent the last couple of days making nested accordions. I struggled to make it work but I finally landed on 3 different accordions. One is the accordion that comes with the theme, another is the Shortcode Ultimate plugin, and the third is the Smooth Accordion plugin. Together they provide exactly the look I am going for. Just press “Africa” on the website and you get an example. Africa represents the first accordion, provided by the theme. Then comes Carnivores and Herbivores, represented by the Smooth Accordions theme, and the inner ones, canids, cats etc. are represented by the Shortcodes ultimate plugin.

Now, everything looks great, but there is one issue. When I start opening up the innermost accordions, take “mongooses” for example, whatever content in there will dissappear behind the “Herbivores” accordion below. If you open muliple of the innermost accorions, you see what I mean. What I want is for the the accordion below to expand as I open up everything above, or else content I present (or will present) will be lost to the reader. I believe the only issue here is in the code Smooth Accordion plugin, but I migth be wrong. My general knowledge of code pretty much stops at shortcodes.

Is there a way to fix this?
