• This is a high-maintenance plugin for most WordPress users.

It does not conform to the conventional auto-install structure, and the author does not warn you of that. If you DO try to auto-install as one normally would the result will likely be that you’ll have to use cpanel to clean up the mess in wp-contents folder.

Once you’ve discovered the unique nature of the plugin, read the lengthy PDF inconveniently placed in the zip file, then re-read the (apparently ESL-authored) instructions again, you’re ready to break out your FTP client and upload the plugin.

My advice is DON’T. The plugin makes demands that require support tickets to your ISP and multiple visits to their forum just to get it functional. Having now spent about a month working with variations of their custom-template and theme-independent versions there just isn’t enough value there for the effort.

    Seek other options!

  • This is absolute rubbish, we have many users using this plugin and it does auto install, the instrutions are there for those who don’t know what they are doing and there are many of those.

It works just fine right out of the box and we have had no issues with either the plugin or people trying to use it, it looks to us that it is you that had issues and not the plugin.

The plugin is now on version v2 & is still going strong with many downloads and many sites turning their blogs into video sites as you can see from this demo the plugin works just fine. https://wordpress.smartvideoplus.com
