[Plugin: Smart Archives Reloaded] fatal error on activation

I’m getting this error when activating Smart Archives Reloaded 1.4.3 (with WP 2.7.1):

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in [file path]/wp-content/plugins/smart-archives-reloaded/main.php on line 29

I use the plugin regularly and haven’t had this before. Anyone else? Any ideas? The code on that line looks fine.
