Plugin slows down backend

Hello,

I am using the plugin to disable updates on websites and on each one of them I see that backend is getting slower. I was able to identify the problem and from what I see this happens because the plugin does version check to wordpress.com.

I am attaching an image with my finding. It will be great if we can get these checks disabled, because this is causing big problems.
