    The admin section of our site is unacceptably slow, and that seems to have happened around the time I installed CleanTalk. No other changes were made.

    Currently I have paid for Premium Spam Protection (3 sites, till 2023) and Premium Security (1 site, 1 year). Yet the plugin section of my site still invites me to “Get Premium”

    To “sync with cloud” in the anti-spam section is not working at all. It generates a “timeout” error.

    Tech support for my server at Hivelocity.net says the server is running fine and that it is likely a WordPress error.

    The public side of the site seems to run okay, but the Admin section is *abominably* slow!

    Further Information:
    “Security by CleanTalk” shows this error message (even though it was still on the valid free trial till Sep 28):

    Nothing appears to be really working. There is only this endless turning icon to show that it is “working.

    Hello,

    Could you try to uninstall and delete both plugins with the Complete deactivation option enabled?

    1. Enter the Antispam by Cleantalk plugin settings. (WordPress Dashboard -> Settings -> Antispam by Cleantalk -> Advanced settings)
    2. Check the last settings “Complete deactivation” and save changes.
    3. Deactivate the plugin on the “Plugins” page in WordPress Dashboard.
    4. Then delete it.
    5. Enter the Security by Cleantalk plugin settings. (WordPress Dashboard -> Settings -> Security by Cleantalk -> General settings tab)
    6. Check the last settings “Complete deactivation” and save changes.
    7. Deactivate the plugin on the “Plugins” page in WordPress Dashboard.
    8. Then delete it.
    9. Install the latest versions of the plugins from the WordPress Catalog.

    Also, please check if allow_url_fopen and CURL support are enabled in your web server PHP settings. You can ask your hosting support about this.

    I deactivated and deleted CleanTalk spam protection, as per your instructions.

    Now I would like to deactivate and delete Security & Malware scan by CleanTalk. However, in the “Settings” section of the main site, I cannot access any CleanTalk settings. It has only this endless rotating symbol indicating it is supposedly working. Clicking on any link makes no difference.

    Can I achieve the same object by just deleting the plugin directory from the server?

    I deleted everything and re-installed Cleantalk Spam protection.

    It appears to be working correctly now, including synchronizing with the cloud. I’m just curious what exactly that “synchronizing with cloud” does and why it does not happen automatically.

    I don’t think I need Security & Malware scan by CleanTalk, since have some pretty strong protection on my server.

    The anti-spam plugin seems to be working fine now.

    CleanTalk was not the culprit that slowed down the Admin section. It was another plugin.
