[Plugin: Slimbox Plugin] Slimbox 1.2 & Next Gen Gallery Compatibility Issue

I’ve installed the latest version of slimbox (v1.2) but the lightbox effect doesn’t work. When you click on an image it just loads a new page with a static image. Is the new version compatible with next gen?

The older version also didn’t work properly for me. It would popup with a blank image and take 3 tries until the image loaded. I deactivated all other plugins and the issue still continued.

Anyone have a fix/workaround??
