    Hi James,

Images you see in the media library are probably all attached to a post. When you upload an image to a page or post, it is attached to that.

If you upload an image through the media library it is not attached to a post yet and you’ll see a link that says ‘Attach’.

When you click this link, a box will pop up. In this box you see the different post types you can attach image to.

Select ‘Slideshows’ and search for the name you gave the slideshow you want to attach the image to. You need to already have created a slideshow for this.

If you did this correctly, a slideshow should have now popped up in the results and you can select it. Then click ‘Select’ to attach the image to this slideshow.

As you can see the image in the media library now is attached to the slideshow and when you go to the slideshow, you’ll see it in the slides summary.

I hope this answers your question. I’ll add an upload button to the slideshow settings screen sometime soon, that should make it easier.

Thanks. That was helpful and I got it working ??

An unrelated question: Is there any way to make it so when you click the images they link to URLs other than the images themselves, for example specific articles on the blog?

    Hi James,

Not yet, there’s not. It’s a good suggestion though, so I will work on it in a future release. I’ll tell you when it’s here.

Stefan – cannot figure out how to create a TEXT slide – all my image slides work fine and I can insert a text slide but how / where / what do I use to create the body of the text slide????

    Thanks in advance

The description actually is the body of the text slide. If you’re using version 2.1.13 and want to use HTML in your text slides (or other special characters), you should update to version 2.1.14, 2.1.13 has a problem with this.

I’m hoping somebody can help me… I’m having the same problem (cannot attached an image to a slide show). When I click on “attach”, I get a blank pop up and can only see a search option. Is there something else that I should be doing?? Thank you!!

Attaching images to a slideshow via the media page isn’t the way to insert images to a slideshow anymore. From version 2 and up, you have to go to the slideshow you want to add your images to and click on the ‘Image slide’ button. Here you can select the images you want to add.

If the aforementioned button doesn’t work, you may have an older version of WordPress that isn’t supported by Slideshow. You’ll need version 3.3 or higher.

Thank you Stefan… I was previously able to do that (insert images directly to the slide show from my computer); however, they’re going into the media library and there doesn’t seem to be a way to get them directly into the slide show. I’ll check it out in more detail tonight.

That’s correct. You’ll have to upload an images before you can insert it into your slideshow.
