[Plugin: Slideshow Gallery] Make information text static and not overlap?

I am putting together a slideshow, and each slide will have a fairly large chunk of information text beneath it.

Is there a way to make it appear underneath and not display over the image? I am currently doing it by extending the gallery height, but sometimes it leaves a gap before the text starts, and I figure there must be a better way of doing this?

Also – I would really like the text to be static – no sliding or disappearing. Is there a way to do that?
