I wanted to avoid Janrain because of their scrips loading rally slowly and having big impact on overall page loading time. That is why I wanted to use Simple Facebook Connect and be able to have standard wp login page displayed as modal along with FB login option.

I am using Social Connect with success, however there are a few fixes that aren’t in the released version so I would recommend grabbing it from the GitHub repository (FWIW I looked at the fixes and they all look good to me)
