    1) I can’t import my old Simple Tagging tags because I get this “Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/domain.com/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 274”

    2) I also get this from probably the older plugin. “Fatal error: Call to undefined function: stp_posttags() in domain.com/wp-content/themes/post.php on line 21” but not sure if i remove this prior to fixing 1)

item 2) is fixed. i reinstalled post.php and page.php and deleted the simple-tagging php code out. i tried to comment the code out but that did not work.

    3) i did get most of my tags imported. those that imported i can see in the admin, i can add tags in a new post. there are no tags visible on the site however. i am going to start messing with a tag cloud in the new widget dashboard.

regarding 1), amaury (plug designer) gave me this info but not sure what he meant and hate to bug him… he says “edit your php.ini file and increase memory and timeout during the importation “

    php.ini ? sorry brain-dead after today…

I had the same problem and put it out for discussion hours ago…. no response or fix yet…. can you let me know if you find one!??

    RLP – sure, no problem.

have you installed a tag cloud? if so, which one did you use with this setup? i am working on that soon.

i have found out what the php.ini file is. i found a lot of info by googling and then asking my isp. i have WHM access and simply reconfigured the php via the php configuration editor. the line stating ” max_execution_time ” was set to 30 (that’s seconds) and i changed it to 60. after the import i reset back to 30. if my file was larger i might have set it to 120 then reset to 30.

very easy after the hour or two of research.

I still haven’t figured this out. My PHP.ini has everything maxed out, but still, it refuses to work.
