  • Is happening to me this very same problem.

It started after upgrading to version 1.2. Now he doubles title and also publishes the symbols with this error.

    See: https://www.facebook.com/iasdquixabeira

The developer himself was a victim of the problem: https://www.facebook.com/ottopress/posts/265239003529405

The symbols thing I know about. Still looking for a decent fix that maintains the proper typography.

Can’t you just delete the first title and leave the linked and correct one?

The “first title” is actually the status message. That was added by popular demand. Having a status message bumps up the value of the post a bit and makes it appear more often in the news feed.

Thank you for your support, Otto.

But the first line has no use for automatic publishing, where it is displayed:

“After publishing the post, you can send it to Facebook from here”

And is this the way I use. In the manual publishing it was already available.

Thus, the previous mode is the best way:
Automatic publishing > without first line.
Manual publishing > with the first line.

The manual publisher has the message box, where you can type anything you want. The automatic mode has no such box, so it has to decide what the message is itself.

There is some confusion here: in automatic mode there is no place to decide what is the message.

    Am I wrong?

Correct, that’s why it uses the title of the post as the message. Better to have a message than to not have one.

But it will always be equal to the link, the doubling of the title is not bad? I prefer to have no message.

If I want to have the message, so I disable the automatic publication.

FWIW – I only get the characters on the automatic post. When I post manually it comes up properly. So for the client I have using SFC, I let the daily post go up automatically, with the coded characters and double lines.
When I wake up and get my coffee, I go back and manually post the daily entry (making a second clean post), then delete the one with the characters.
Just to share a workaround until the auto posting gets cleaned up.

@ialima7: The doubling of the title is not bad, it is in fact very good. Having a message, even the same one as the title, causes a (slightly) higher ranking in FB’s algorithms, giving it a better shot at being in any individual’s News Feed.

This is not going to be removed or made optional.

The character fix will be made (try the trunk version, tell me if it fixes your issues, feedback will be helpful here).

OK. It was an attempt. Thanks for responding.
