In order to login to WordPress, there must be a WordPress account. Period. Can’t log in without an account to log in to.
The SFC-Register plugin lets you create a new WordPress user already connected to the Facebook credentials for that user. But yes, a new WP user must still get created.
In other words:
After clicking connect with FB, it took me to the “create account” page for WP.
That’s correct. That is what it is supposed to do. And if you’d gone ahead and created an account, that user account that gets created will start out connected to the FB user you’re logged in as. And then the one-click FB login for that user will work too.
