I am working on a fix. I did commit a new version with a different plugin header. Once I find the appropriate fix I will post it here. Also, please try to download and install the latest plugin from wordpress, maybe you got a bad version!?!

I just installed it on a wordpress installation with no errors using the latest version. Can you please try again, I just pushed up version 4.2.9 to the wordpress svn.
Let me know if you run into any problems after this new version. https://www.russellalbin.com/contact/

    Hey..

Yeah it worked now. At least on my “live” site, I first tried it locally and that still got a fatal error.
But it works, so will give a try soon =)

OK, well after 7 months of ignoring this issue, I found out why some would get an error when trying to install. It turns out I had a few short tags instead of the full <?php. That would make any installation fail unless you had short tags enabled. So, I removed them and now you should have no problems installing on a server that does not have short tags enabled.
