  • Yes, we found this related to WP SuperCache. We had to disable SuperCache for it was conflicting with a few plugins.

The problem is noot with WP Super Cache. W3 Total Cache also give same problem. I have tried several other Cache plugins. After a few hours Sidebar login starts “undefined” funky error. So, this is not WP Super Cacche problem, but a bug in Sidebar login for sure.
Developers should have fixed it. I had noticed these type of reports as old as 2 years.
With WP Super Cache plugin the “undefined” error strats immediately once cache is built. With W3 Total Cacche, it take several hours to a couple of dayss for the error to starts appearing.
The only work around I had found which works; is use W3 Total Cache with Objecct Cache and DB Cache disabled. Then, setup a cron job and delete your caches index.html file every couple hour, or for busy sites every 15 minutes.
I am using it with a datingsolution.biz DSP plugin at https://www.shaadiconnections.com. I discussed the issue with the developers of datingsolutions.biz. They will fix the Sidebar login bug for their customers. However, it may be a couple of months when new version of DSP will be released. They will package the fixed version of Siderbar login with their plugin for their customers.

The plugin was working fine for me, for a couple weeks – and all of a sudden today it is returning the undefined box in all browsers.

I noticed an update was available – updated – did not fix the problem.

I’m not using any cache plugins. Please help!

Actuallu update works perfect with W3 Total Cache and WP Sper Cache. I do not get undefined error any more.
Are you sure you are not using some sort of cache or perhaps Apache caching through htaccess file?

Yeah, I have no cache software on the server.

I did deactivate the plugin and reactivate it and it is now working again. We’ll see if it holds.

Has the author release an update?
    when was the last update?

yes, new version was released yesterday morning. Either update through WP Dashboard or download and install a fresh one.

    excellent thanks

Still having a problem with this plugin. I would log in and it would just hang with the circle loading icon from mouse spinning, came back in 2 hours and it was still spinning.

Logged in with wp-logon.php url and disabled sidebar login and enabled. Sidebar works now.

    @Maitch
Yes, the problem is still there. It used to be apparent in 2-3 days with W3 Total Cache. Now it take a bit longer (1 week). The only solution is: clear the cache or setup a cron job to delete the cached files every 24 hours.

For me too, caching (WP Super Cache) seems to make the plugin fail.

I am now using Theme My Login instead, which works.

The simplest work around is not cache the Home page. W3T Cache has option not to cache Home page.
