Plugin showed cache page from 4 days prior

I am using the latest version of the plugin with 3.6.1.
The plugin was working fine, and then suddenly it displayed an old page from several days ago (I had emptied the cache a couple times since then). I didn’t think that copy would still be on the server.
To get the site to work again, I had to empty cache. Any reason why this happened?
