• How do I go about placing the share buttons on my homepage so that users can share my actual index ‘home.php’ page with other people?

–There are no articles on my homepage as it’s a splashpage.

I tried echo sharing_display(); but that did not work.

I even tried copying the hardcoded version from another page into my index page, and changing the url, but that did not work either. The links simply return to the homepage instead of going to facebook/twitter.

    thanks

Do you have the show on home page option set? Is your splash page inside WordPress? Have you disabled sharing on the splash page?

The only option I see in my sharing admin is to show on index/posts pages which I have chosen.

I created a home.php page for my home splash page. There are no ‘posts’ on the homepage.

The sharing buttons can only be shown on pages that use WordPress to display a post. If you have a static front page and you can edit the content from WordPress then this is still a post.

If your home.php is entirely custom then you can’t show the sharing buttons there.
