[Plugin: Share and Follow] Facebook Like Pop-Up Keeps Re-Appearing

  • I’ve recently installed the Share and Follow plugin and love how easy it was to set up. I’ve got everything in place so twitter, facebook, and stumbleupon boxes appear at the bottom of each post in the website’s blog area.

    Currently, twitter and stumbleupon work wonderfully.

    Unfortunately, the Like button creates a pop-up, which then closes and changes the “Like” button to “1 Person”. Awesome so far.

    A split second later it creates another pop-up and changes the “1 Person” back to “Like”.

    And then it pops-up again… and keeps going back and forth.

    The only way to break the problem is to refresh or navigate away from the page.

    What do you think could be the problem?

    Update: This bug only seems to appear to people who are already logged in to Facebook. A non-logged in user sees the appropriate log-in fields and, after submitting, the pop-up hides and the like button updates without any new pop-ups being created.

    Update: This issue also seems to mainly appear in firefox – Safari and IE seem to handle the plugin ok.

    Update: The issue seems to be appearing in Firefox on both Mac and PC.

    Version: 3.6.13

    Check what other extensions you have installed, I am not experiencing the same issues from firefox running 3.6.13

    The problem was with the Interactive Buttons – Facebook/Twitter/Stumble.

    Since I could not resolve the issue I was forced to revert to the share icons instead – and those are working fine (which I believe is what you just saw).

    I don’t currently have a test page with the interactive buttons loaded.
