[Plugin: Shadowbox JS] Stopped Working Since Upgrade to 3.03

  • I’m actually on WordPress 2.9.2

    I upgraded this morning to the latest version of the plugin. Since then Shadowbox JS does not work at all.

    So far I’ve tried:

    • Deactivating and reactivating
    • Uninstall/reinstall
    • Tried each different JS library – none have any effect
    • Deleted all cached pages and the browser cache – no change
    • Enabled/disabled smart loading, neither makes a difference.

    What should I do? Go back to the previous version?
    Previous version worked perfectly, I should’ve stuck with it..

    Also, I have disabled the img title push plugin as it prevents the img displaying if there is a title already there which is different to the title in the anchor. I don’t really need this functionality anyway, I’m just letting you know that there’s some kind of conflict there.

  • Ok, I am using theme F8 Lite

    and all I want is a simple set of thumbnails that when the user clicks on open in the Shadowbox effect, and no, nothing. They all just open in the same window but without any “lightbox” effect.

    I have read all the posts in this forum and most deal with older issues of WP. I am using 3.0.3 and want the basic effect, but for some reason nothing is working. I don’t know if it is the F8 theme, though the author says no, or something else going on?

    I have reset the default, etc, and still nothing. Could it be that I am using a temp url or something? I don’t know what else it could be, but I am stumped.

    That worked for me Matt thanks.
    For some reason like everyone else it Shadowbox stopped working and gave the error:
    Exception thrown and not caught;
    wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=shadowboxjs&cache=daa6dff5ffad3e9a9b85e1ef7a5d0025&ver=3.0.3

    However once i downloaded your dev version and uploaded, ticking Use Cached shadowbox.js worked for me.
    PS. in IE, i had to manually clear my browsers cache, other browsers were fine

    I’m wondering if this is a WP issue. Mine was working and then all of a sudden stop working, done it twice on me.

    Setup a 2nd WP site today just to see if it would work. Only thing installed was the Akismet plugin and a wooTheme. It was working fine. Click on an image in a post and it brought up the shadowbox just fine. Added some more stuff, seemed to be still working. Went a way for a couple hours. Came back started tweaking WP some more and now it doesn’t work. When I click on an image in a post it goes to a seperate page of it’s own with room for comments. If I click it there it THEN goes into Shadowbox but only one image.

    This blog is just being setup and has only 1 post at the moment. It worked originally but not now.

    WP 3.0.4
    Installed both the latest active Shadowbox JS and the developmental version posted above but no dice.

    I have it on another site, current WP version and it works fine. I can’t see any config differences other than theme between the two. But the two themes I’ve tried on this latest install don’t work.

    Well right now it’s working. It’s not working on the original install still, but it is working on a second install I did as a test.
