• is it possible to combine the two? I’d like to mask the .flv files as I’m running a members only site – is it possible to use the Download Monitor plugin to create private urls and then use those instead of the direct link to the flv? I’ve tried and it doesn’t seem to work. Using firebug to replace the link myself works, but if I add the download monitor link, in place of the direct link to the .flv it just downloads the file, even with the rel=”shadowbox” in place

  • Check out the forum at https://www.shadowbox-js.com/ which is the upstream forum for shadowbox.js. I seem to remember a topic on there that referenced how to do this, perhaps not with Download Monitor but just a straight download link.

    It may be helpful.

boy, can’t seem to find it. I’ve tried this:

    <a href="/download-monitor/download.php?id=2" rel="shadowbox;height=240;width=360;player=flv;type=video;file=https://www.mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/nameofvideo.flv">Watch it now</a>

Didn’t work, but I’m at least getting a Error #2032 now from the jwplayer – which hasn’t turned up much else on their boards

    I need your advice:

    • Is it a good idea to ’embed’ both the SWF and the html5 versions into a page instead of using the Shadowbox?
    • Is this easier for mobile phones and iPads?
