    Hi,

First of all, thanks for Shadowbox.

I seem to be seeing a lot of requests to the following path (within the WP-admin dir) from normal visitors:

    /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=shadowboxjs&cache=13a5e2a15c5a61a169f56277a4aa7167&ver=3.0.3

Is this normal? I don’t see why normal visitors should be requesting anything in wp-admin.

    Thanks.

It is normal. In the event that you are unable to use the cached shadowbox.js file that is attempted to be written to wp-content/uploads/shadwbox-js the plugin will fallback to using the ajax endpoint provided by WordPress to deliver the dynamically generated shadowbox.js content.

Although admin-ajax.php is located within wp-admin, it is considered to be the appropriate ajax endpoint for anonymous users, or authenticated users as well as for the admin or frontend.

Although this is not an ajax request, admin-ajax.php serves the same purpose by allowing to call a URL with a specific get variable and output content.

    Hi Matt,

    Thanks for your reply.

My wp-content/uploads/shadwbox-js directory did not have the correct ownership, which was preventing the plugin from writing the cached file there.

    Thanks for clarifying things.
