    Hi Otto,

I love your SFC Facebook Fan Box, which I have installed on my blog ( https://www.1775thebook.com aka derekbeck.com/1775 ).

Was wondering: I realized that the iframe like box from facebook, which I encoded myself into a php file, led people to like articles, but duped them into thinking they were liking the book (on the application page). So, I removed my like button (but retain the facebook share button, which I intend to move down the page). But my question is: is it possible, perhaps with one of your SFC plugins, to create a like tag that is not merely a “like this article and paste it on your wall” but a like that will automatically have them like the application page? That is, can I have a simple like button that reproduces the like button inside your SFC Facebook Fan Box?

    Thanks again!
    Derek

Actually: I want a like button that replicates the like button on the bottom of this WordPress site! How do I do that?

I figured it out: you have to set the URL on the like button, such as one hardcoded using the instructions at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like , to the application or fanpage itself. Be sure to replace slashes and the like with html url encoding. The tool on facebook’s page does this for you, or you can do it manually using these rules: https://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_urlencode.asp

    Sorry, I missed this before.

Yes, if you make the like button have the url of the facebook fan page, then liking it will make the user like the fan page. We used the iframe version of the code here on wp.org.

No need for SFC to do this, BTW. Next version may have something to make this sort of thing easier.

roger, and thanks. and roger on no need for SFC for this. I hard encoded it.
