Plugin Settings Never Saved to DB

Hello folks!
Love the plugin. One question:
Why must I re-enter my settings every single time the plugin is updated?
The settings I am talking about are Related posts title, Maximum number of related posts, and Exclude (Categories)– seems like these settings should be saved.
