[PLUGIN: SEO Ultimate] Title Rewriter

Using SEO Ultimate Version 2.8 and WordPress 2.9.2 on own web hosting server.
<?php wp_head(); ?> is in header.php, just before closing head tag.

In Title Rewriter > Categories tab, for first and last categories, HTML page Title tag is not changed and entries in field are not saved. Click on Save Changes button and no errors or warnings appear. But if user leaves that section and returns, fields are now blank.

In Title Rewriter > Posts tab, HTML page Title tag is not changed and entries in field are not saved. Click on Save Changes button and no errors or warnings appear. But if user leaves that section and returns, fields are now blank. HTML page Title tag can be changed through SEO Ultimate tabs in WordPress Admin Posts > Edit Post module. Meta Description and Meta Keywords tags are also added successfully here.
