• I’m getting this error frequently today. I’ve googled it but couldn’t figure out exactly what’s the root of the problem. Could be my host? Could be Facebook?

    Fatal error: Uncaught CurlException: 28: connect() timed out! thrown in /wp-content/plugins/seo-facebook-comments/facebook/base_facebook.php on line 825

    The sad part is that when I get this error, my blog gets all mixed up. The headers with logo and menu disappears, so as the sidebar.

    @robbiwu Thanks for the solution! I just don’t know why it stopped working from one day to another.

    @dangreenisrael Didn’t know about that. I’m gonna try it out. Thanks!

    sorry guys, that only solved a problem with my login button.

    The error is intermittent.

    It was a coincidence that it worked.

    I am having the same problem. I do not believe it’s GoDaddy issue though, since this happens often but not all the time.

    After a few refresh, I can load the facebook comment successfully without triggering the connection timed out error.

    Fatal error: Uncaught CurlException: 7: couldn’t connect to host thrown in /wp-content/plugins/seo-facebook-comments/facebook/base_facebook.php on line 825

    LINE 825: …
    $e = new FacebookApiException(array(

    I have tried to increase the CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT but still it didn’t work ..

    public static $CURL_OPTS = array(
    CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT => 40,
    CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER => true,
    CURLOPT_TIMEOUT => 60,
    CURLOPT_USERAGENT => ‘facebook-php-3.1’,
    );

    Anybody has solved this issue?

    Any solution for this?

    It’s a problem with the plugin. Specifically the facebook.php and base_facebook.php files being used in the plugin are outdated, and it can’t reach the facebook API because of recent updates. The fact that this happened to many people on GoDaddy is just coincidental, and shows the popularity that GoDaddy has with webmasters still

    Solution is go to rackspace, setup 1 hr, grab a cert,
    copy your files over. Go do something else.

    I did, bye folks ??

    Hey guys …….
    after upgrading to 3.4.1 tried the plugin and it works without problems.
    You can try

    i use www. as you said but it still error: https://www.benhgout.com/thuoc-moi-dieu-tri-gout/
    help me please
    atal error: Uncaught CurlException: 6: Couldn’t resolve host ‘api-read.facebook.com’ thrown in /home/goutben32/domains/benhgout.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/seo-facebook-comments/facebook/base_facebook.php on line 825

    Not sure if anyone is still having problems with this, but I encountered the issue on two of my sites last night. I remedied both my updating the Facebook Comments plugin. Both are fixed now.
