Old comment from built-in comment system.

all comments are lost in a single post when i started to install this plugin.

Ah that’s because the plugin only fetch the comments posted on Facebook to the wordpress database.

Theres no way to do the inverse since is required to the user to be authenticated with facebook in order to post on their comment system.

What I do in this case (and in my sites) is embed the facebook comment but also show the wordpress comment system, so users have both options.

hmm.. i have a conclusion now.
means better use the Disqus, because more has an ID authentication and able to sync with built-in comment system.

For your case, probabily it is, despite all the API facebook still have a really close system, so imagine that to be able to transfer all comments to facebook you would need all the commenters to input and authorize the comments to be inputed through their user id.

I know it’s been 4 months since last post, but did anyone of you manage to import ‘old’ comments to facebook comment plugin?

I’m just getting rid of disqus in favour of facebook comments, but I would really like not to lose the old comments. Any help would be much appreciated!

I’m willing to change from the default WordPress comment system to SEO Facebook Comments as soon as there is a way to import old comments into the facebook version. I think this feature is on high demand for a lot of people who are not willing to delete entire discussions in their posts. Would be great if this got sorted out.

Really? There is no way to install the Facebook for Workdpress social plugin – without loosing all your old comments?
