• First of all, nice little widget.

    Take a look at what I have done here –

    https://www.brainwavingtv.com

    I have used this together with the Advanced Text Widget. I have just a few problems / questions –

    The Advanced Text has this as a typical code –

    The RSS that it is showing is somewhat crude. I’d like to make a few changes (I realise this isn’t strictly within the remit of the plugin but I would be so grateful if anyone might help!)

    1) The bullet points on the tabs are quite unnecessary – any idea why they are showing?

    2) Would it be possible to make the links change colour when the mouse is hovered over them?

    3) Would it be possible to make actual COMMENT TEXT show in grey rather than the same white colour as eveything else, so it is clearer what is being displayed?

    This would all go to make my use of the tab work so much better. If anyone would like to respond to me, I’d love to hear from you – d.hart (at) djh-graphics.com – thanks very much!

  • Hi deejayhart,

    1) To remove the bullet points on the tabs, you need to do a “scope detection”. You can read the FAQ for instructions.

    The rest of the customization can be done in CSS. If you’re new to CSS you might want to pick up a book on that, but this should give you a pretty good starting point. (add them to style.css)

    For 2) :
    .swt-outter ui-tabs-panel a.hover { color: #9999FF; /* mouse over color */ }

    For 3) :
    .swt-outter ui-tabs-panel rss_excerpt { color: #999999; }

    Hi Godfrey, this is really kind of you – is there any way we might be able to chat briefly on msn or skype so I can clarify a couple of things? Thanks again. Dan
    PS msn is msn (at) djh-graphics.com – and skype is deejayhart

    You can find me on Twitter on @chancancode, I’ll also be on the wordpress IRC channel from time to time (godfreyhk). If it’s just CSS problems you can ask pretty much anyone there.
