We are in the process of recreating a website using WordPress and I found your SC Catalog to use with our store. I saw someone else’s post about duplicating the plugin and renaming the new one, changing all of the code referring to SC catalog to the new name, and activating that for a new category. While that has been a work around, the WordPress people say that it’s surprising that that will work, rather than subsequent numbered SC catalog files superceding the lower numbered version. However, for the moment it is. I have 2 questions, what happens in such a case if there is an update for SC catalog? I’ve got a mess right? How soon might we expect an update with categories included to avoid this mess. I really love the way the plugin arranges everything and it looks so nice and clean, so I’d be thrilled to get this taken to the next level.

As far as I know if you change the name of the plugin it will check new versions for the new name, and will never find one. You will have to update each copy manually by making the same renaming that you have done in the first place.

Categories are now supported, check version 1.2.
