[Plugin: Sabre] Users chosen password feature not working properly

Would like my users to be able to choose their password upon registration. Sabre allows them to “choose” a password on the registration page, however after registering, WP sends users an email with a different, auto-generated password. The auto-generated password works, and the user-chosen password does not work.
Any idea why this is happening? How to fix?
