[Plugin: RSS Just Better] feed & UTF-8 support

  • Hi,

    i’m having issues with special characters from feeds. To my understanding, this problem is probably wider than simply this plugin but I would beg you to take a moment and look at the problem.

    I’ve generated an example feed url from Facebook: feed://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.php?format=atom10&id=149773545063777

    At source it has <meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”text/html; charset=utf-8″ />” which to my understanding should be enough to show scandic chars such as ?, ?, ? etc correctly.

    But despite my prayers, widget shows the text on this feed as something where ‘?’ char equals ä etc. making my day a misery.

    Any ideas how to fix this situation? The culprit here might very well be facebook, but these char -issues are beyond my powers… and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    as clarification edit here: “where ‘?’ char equals “& # x e 4 ;” etc.

    – wordpress forum works better than real life

    As a note: WordPress out of the box RSS widget seems to work ok for those umlauts.
