[Plugin: RSS Image Widget] No pics for featured images

I’m having the same problem, never got this plugin to work and don’t understand the response from the creator about “enclosures”. I’m just using the regular and latest wordpress feed, that should do, no? According to my searches, “enclosures” are default nowadays in WordPress. And yes, I’ve installed SimplePie + SimplePie Core, though they haven’t been updated since 2008.

Any other plugin that can show an image from an RSS feed as a widget? It seems like a really simple feature, but still I have only found this plugin which I can’t get to work.
