Plugin request: ShareIt – I don't like Share This and AddThis

  • There are tons of social / sharing plugins for WP. However, most of them either utilize Share This or AddThis or are clones…

    My problem with these is that they keep the options hidden, and require multiple clicks from the visitor.

    I have come across what I consider to be the best social / sharing script EVER at: https://www.shapeshifter.se/2008/08/05/shareit-social-media-bookmark-bar/

    I’d like to know if a WP plugin is available for this so that it can be managed from the WP admin console…

  • Seen AddToAny? The plugin offers standalone services (individual icons) in addition to the sharing button:

    Fun fact: AddToAny is also the original universal sharing button – not a clone. ??

    Seems exactly like AddThis.

    My problem with AddThis as well as AddToAny is that they seem to hide all the icons in a dropdown…

    (I have just seen the screenshot on the link you provided – so am willing to be corrected if there are more options)

    Yep, static standalone services are easily available in AddToAny’s settings panel, and there are many more options that are not shown in the screenshots.

    Give AddToAny a try, I think you’ll love it.
