Plugin replaces the default handling from WordPress and rewrites the URL

Using Pods I created a CPT: wprm_recipe
and two taxonomies: wprm_course and wprm_cuisine
(I am also using a recipe plugin, WP Recipe Maker)
I am using BTF to filter results in a widget in the sidebar.
It shows up on /recipes/ archive page:
But when I use the filter, it reloads the existing page.
The plugin is inserting the word ‘recipes’ in the url, which is causing it not to filter,
whereas if I manually type in: /course/dessert/
that will filter correctly, but not:
/recipes/course/dessert/
