And you’re sure those words are not stopwords?

There was something with how the WooThemes work that didn’t work straight out of the box with Relevanssi. I think it had something to do with WooThemes showing the content of the posts on the search results page and not the excerpt, but that should only affect how the custom excerpts are shown, not what the results are.

    Hi,
definitely sure they are not stop words. Shall have a word with WooThemes to see if they have any ideas as they do recommend your plugin. Would like to keep this open though.

Hi there Woothemes have come back to say they cannot help ??

Basically I want the search to include posts and pages but absolutely nothing is happening. Have deactivated and reactivated the plugin and still not working on anything. Please help as I really want to use your plugin.

Does Relevanssi build the index correctly? Do you see an appropriate amount of posts in the index?

    Hi msaari,
I actually have 39 pages and 13 posts and the index is showing as follows:-

    Documents in the index 49
    Terms in the index 1890
    Highest Post ID indexed 534

When I build the index it says “Indexing complete!” I presume the number of documents does not exactly match the number of pages and posts because I have 3 custom pages. I have excluded the custom Home Page and the custom Forums page from the count.

I have also done some testing and this is very bizarre.

I tested in a sandpit area I have and use something called Instant WordPress where everything is local to my PC. I reverted back to TwentyEleven to see if it was an issue with Canvas and the plugin worked fine. However I then activated Canvas in the sandpit and the plugin worked perfectly nb this was without the Woo Search I currently have installed on the live site. The settings of the plugin matched exactly the settings in live.

I then copied the Woo Search code over to the sandpit thinking this could be the problem but the plugin still worked in the sandpit with the Woo Search code so it cannot be that!!!

This is so bizarre and I cannot understand how it can all be working fine in the sandpit but not in live. Hope this can be resolved.

    Hi msaari,
hope the following information from my host provider helps.

The database structure is as you would find on a dedicated server , for example ‘wp_relevanssi’ where as on our shared server it is ‘wp_spotlightjustice2relevanssi’. What worries me is that the name prefix is ‘wp_spotlightjustice2’ and also we have some tables with ‘wp_spotlightjustice’ as a prefix and duplicated!

We have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin several times but obviously it did not work the very first time we tried it which is why it was uninstalled and then retried with the latest version that you released this week.

The database prefix isn’t hardcoded to Relevanssi, Relevanssi uses whatever WordPress says is the prefix. If your WordPress config is correct, then that should not be a problem.

    Hi msaari,
I have built my entire live production website in my sandpit and done some more testing.

In the sandpit where relevanssi is working when I do a search I get the following header returned:-

https://websiteurl/?s=dolor (where dolor is the search word)

In live where relevanssi is not working when I do a search I get the following header returned:-

    https://websiteurl/?s=dolor&submit.x=0&submit.y=0

Despite having created the live environment in the sandpit I am also getting different index details.

    Sandpit:-
    Documents in the index: 48
    Terms in the index: 1871
    Highest post ID indexed: 1210

    Live:-
    Documents in the index: 49
    Terms in the index: 1891
    Highest post ID indexed: 534

    Hope this further information helps.

Those extra parameters on the search should not matter, because Relevanssi won’t even notice them.

    Hi msaari,
we have completely rebuilt the database and sorted thestructure tables. The search works perfectly now. Many thanks for your patience.
