[Plugin: Redirection] Just upgraded to the latest version and when i activated

  • Just upgraded to the latest version and when i clicked activate.. it didnt completely activate… and it also froze the whole of my wp-admin and my hosting said the plugin was using lots of processes and that it had to kill it..

    So i had to delete the plugin manually via cpanel and install the old one again

    What do you recommend I do?

    I have the latest version of WP

    How many redirections do you have? Do you have a lot of log items? If you do, you could try clearing out your logs.

    i have about 25 redirections
    100,000 items in the log… deleting now, then will report back

    also what are the disadvantages of not upgrading to the latest plugin version, thanks

    ok i deleted the log, and then upgraded, and still the same problem happened… so i had to use the older version..

    any ideas?

    There is something in your database that is causing the upgrade to consume a lot of resources. You could try exporting your 25 redirections, deleting the plugin from the Redirection options page, then activating and adding the redirections back.

    Disadvantages of not upgrading are the same for anything – old software.
