[Plugin: Redirection] Home Page Redirects to new wordpress page

  • Using WordPress 3.0 and Frugal Theme. I created and published a new page. Now, when I click on the Home Page, it redirects to this new page. The redirect occurs from every homepage link on my site.

    I deactivated all my plugins and started adding them back one by one. The redirect plugin is responsible for this change.

  • The problem occures when you create a new PAGE. POSTS are fine, but as soon as a PAGE is created, the home page redirects to the last created page.

    You can deactivate the plugin as suggested, or just keep this mind when you create a page, especially since pages are (mostly) created infrequently.

    So, when you create a new PAGE, go to Tools>>Redirection>>Groups>>Modified posts.

    There you will see a new homepage redirect listed as /

    Simply select and delete this redirect and things will return to normal.

    The problem should be fixed in 2.2.29

    I didn’t have this problem with a page, but a regular post. Deactivating the plugin made the problem go away. It is a mystery.

    The fix I used for now was the one I found here….

    Once modified post are disabled can they be re-enabled ?

    This just started hitting my site (Thesis 1.8 theme, Redirection 2.2.3). A “Modified Posts” redirection is being automatically created for “/blog/” to the most recently manually created post (posts autogenerated by Twitter Tools, for example, don’t suffer from this) (and, yes, postss, not pages).

    The fix suggestion (disabling the Modified Posts function) works.

    Another vote (and thank you!) for the suggestion to disable the modified posts function. This worked for me today.

    As of WordPress 3.1 RC1, Redirection 2.2.3 is still broken with this front page issue. This is terrible. This plugin is meant to fix redirection issues, not create them! I’ll be marking it as broken under WordPress Plugin Directory.

    Also various other features in the plugin are not working. I see no options under Module / WordPress other than the title.

    Yes, as others on this thread have found, disabling Modified Posts fixes the home page issue.
