• I have no idea how much work it would involve ?? but would it be possible to make “Linked ingredients in recipe output to their archive pages” optional and instead and/or add the ingredient description field as a link. Change the description field into a text field like a post so that you can make an ingredient description with images, links etc. regardless of what theme is used.

Or maybe both, so the link to the archive page and next to it a question mark you can click that shows the ingredient description, so that people do not have to look elsewhere if they see an ingredient they do not know.

That would be a really nice addition, but probably not something I would do for the free version. It would require template manipulation.

If you’re theme savvy at all, you could simply duplicate your category or archive template and rename it taxonomy-ingredient.php and add in the field for the description.

Well uhm i am not ?? but i can give it a try. One thing i noticed about the description field is that it removes formatting. No idea how to tangle that if i succeed in using the taxonomy-ingredient.php you suggested.

If this is going to be part of the pro version, it would certainly be a reason for me to buy it.

Now i put the ingredient description in manually at the end of the recipe as you can see here https://www.gendji.eu/?p=791 but that needs to be done for every recipe ofc.
