[Plugin: Really Simple CAPTCHA] Captcha image wont show Contact Form 7

  • I am going crazy. I cannot get the captcha image to show up on my website, https://whub28.webhostinghub.com/~indoor13/emftesting.net/?page_id=7

    I am running wordpress 3.3.2, Contact form 7 v3.1.2, Really Simple Captcha v1.5
    In the admin panel the error I get under contact is “This contact form contains CAPTCHA fields, but the temporary folder for the files (/home/emftest/public_html/wp-content/uploads/wpcf7_captcha) does not exist or is not writable. You can create the folder or change its permission manually.”

    I do that have that folder and the permissions are set to 777

    does anyone know the fix? or if not, does anyone know a better contact form or captcha I could use that would be able to create the same type thing I have now.

  • You are probably missing the font folder. That’s what happened to me. I did automatic download from WP but it didn’t install the font folder. Download the plugin again and you’ll see the font folder. Upload that font folder and you’ll probably be good to go.

    rynoesco, what do you mean by ‘font’ folder?
    I couldn’t find one font folder in the zip file (both contactform7 or reallysimplecaptcha)

    Within the downloaded files for the plugin there was a font folder for me. In that font folder is the font that the captcha uses to make the code. I checked on my server and I didn’t have that font folder (it didn’t upload automatically from the auto install). I manually uploaded that font folder to my server and it worked for me.

    Could you tell us the contents of the folder and what the name of it is?

    On my server I have a folder called “gentium” within that it has four fonts in there from the same family: GenR102.TTF, GenAR102.TTF, GenI102.TTF and GenI102.TTF. There should also be eight additional files in there including .txt and .vfb files. I hope this helps.
