    Hi,

After finding out many of the options from Quick Flickr Widget had mysteriously disappeared from it, I learnt from a topic on this forum that the features I was missing had been removed by the author for security and compatibility reasons.

But while trying to make it work, I installed a plugin called Fast Flickr Widget (instead of “Quick” Flickr Widget), labeled as version 1.3.1. This plugin still includes the old “Quick” plugin options, so I thought the issue was solved.

Later, I realised they are in fact 2 different plugins, and it strikes me as odd that, while the author states the features were removed and version 1.3 is the latest, there’s this other plugin which keeps the old features but is a newer version (1.3.1).

Anybody has an explanation for this? Is the Fast Flickr Widget version dangerous, or is it safe to use? Thanks a lot for any insight on this.

Ok… according to what I found out from other sources, the plugin is NOT safe to use and should be avoided. I’ve already replaced it by another one which more or less does the same (anyway, security-wise, the fact of not being supported anymore by the author should be reason enough to replace any plugin). Just wanted to share my findings in case somebody else ran into the same issue later.
