[Plugin: Quick Chat] Can not see the names of other users in userlist

  • I’m really happy with quick chat, but there’s one thing I cannot seem to resolve.

    When chatting with my logged in users they can see my name, but I can’t see their names in the userlist next to the messages. The only names I can see is my own name and the name of my wife is she is participating in the chat (uses same IP as me).

    Ik can see the messages of other users but not the names in the list. If they invite me for a private chat I can not click their names because they are not in the list.

    How to resolve this? If you need more information I’m glad to provide this.

    Hello, it seems like your chat is only half functional. I remember this particular issue happening due to old jQuery version (older than 1.4.4). You should load your chat page, view its source and search for <script> tags that load jQuery and follow its href to see jQuery version. If it’s older than 1.4.4 you should report here and I’ll instruct you on how to proceed.

    Ik took away the URl before it, but I have a number of URl’s with this version name/ numbers. In that case it looks like I have a younger version than you mentioned, and isn’t the problem.

    I’ve found out that it has something to do with the ‘Interval for refreshing list of online users’. If I put it on 60 secs it doesn’t show users of users drop out of the list after a few seconds. If I put it on 600 secs chatters wil stay online for an hour after they already left the chatroom (page). And… you have to refresh the page to see new participants.

    So how to solve this issue?

    file is from JQuery UI, and it is jQuery extension not jQuery it self.

    Unfortunately there are million ways to break Quick Chat, plus like any other software Quick Chat it self isn’t without bugs. Because of that I can’t solve your issue without looking at the site my self and currently I do not have time to do this. I advise that you find web developer to debug your site and Quick Chat.
