• Hi,

    I’ve a fresh install of WordPress 3.0.3 and just installed

    GD Custom Posts And Taxonomies Tools – ver 1.3.0 and Query Multiple Taxonomies – ver 1.3.2

    I’ve created a new Custom Post type “Movies” and Taxonomy “Genre”. I’ve added the widget – Taxonomy Drill Down. When configuring the widget I can see

    Taxonomies:

    * Categories
    * Post Tags
    * Genre

    Am I supposed to see my “Movies” custom post type?

    Thanks

    Hi thanks.
    I’ve read the post but I’m already using the latest version of GD custom posts and taxonomies tool and your plugin.

    My custom taxonomy “genre” is showing in the widget setting but my custom post type “movies” is not. I assume it’s meant too?

    Not sure where I’m going wrong

    Wow, I only now saw “custom post type”.

    The plugin’s title is “Query Multiple Taxonomies”. What made you think that a custom post type would show up in the taxonomy list?

    Hi oops my miss understanding. The plugins I’ve used to create custom taxonomies also create custom post types. I guess When i found your plugin i just automatically thought it would pull in custom posts types too. (Im new to WP so don’t know how or where wordpress stores these values)

    I like the way your plugin works I was just looking for a way to avoid using categories and make my own post types.

    Is it a major add-on or do you have any plans make a plugin like QMT but include custom post types?

    Categories are a taxonomy. If you want to avoid using categories, make a custom taxonomy, not a custom post type.

    Furthermore, you can assign the same taxonomy to multiple post types and they will show up when you filter by a term in that taxonomy.

    To clarify:

    * post types contain posts.
    * taxonomies contain terms.
    * terms are assigned to posts.
