• Hello,

I’m trying to get each of the separate FAQ question pages on a different template from the single.php. I mean the actual separate pages for each of the question and answer.

I’ve tried making single-faq.php, single-faq_qa.php and various others similar file names, but cannot find what the name of the post type is and have had no success.

Can someone suggest a way to get them to be off a different template?

    Thanks

  • Same question here. I tried similar names and even went thru the functions.php file to see if I could find the custom-post-type name. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Solved: To create a custom template, name your page single-qa_faqs.php

    Cheers!

single-qa_faqs.php doesn’t seem to work for me. Also tried qa_faqs-single.php

Please create single-qa_faqs.php in your theme folder instead of plugin folder, it will work.

    Hi,
Is it possible to change archive or category page as well? I tried category-qa_faqs.php and faq-category.php but it seems that it’s not simple as that. ??

Got it. Actually it is: taxonomy-faq_category.php
    I completely forgot about this…
    Cheers!

Mmm, does not work for me when I placed single-qa_faqs.php in my child theme folder; I had to place in in the parent them folder for it to work …
