!!!! Plugin Proxy Problems !!!

Geeeee… I’ve spent hours trying to nail out HOW to get WP to use my proxy!!! I’ve included the following to wp-config.php:

define(‘WP_PROXY_HOST’, ‘www-gw.foi.se’);
define(‘WP_PROXY_PORT’, ‘8080’);

Restarted my Bitnami stack (running WP on Windows), but when I try to update plugin settings I get timeouts and I’m 100% sure they’re proxy related! Why, oooh why, isn’t there a simple proxy settings area in Settings-General or whatever… in WP???

FYI I’ve also tried to add some ‘WP_PROXY_USERNAME/PASSWORD’ settings to no avail…

I really, really hope there is anybody out there who knows what to do…
