[Plugin: Propel] Themes only partially working.

Did you intentionally get rid of the default themes, and if so, why? Any chance you could add back the default themes?

Also, I have chosen to show the clients, begin and end dates, and progress. I want my clients to be able to login to the special “Project Status” page I created, so they can see the progress made so far on their projects. Right now, the clients are being shown as a list, and when I click on the different clients, nothing happens. The project details are all just listed in an array below the list of all the clients. There are also no progress bars for the projects. I am thinking of rolling back to version 1.7 just to get back the nice UI that came along with 1.7

I removed them because, in my opinion, they all looked ugly. I haven’t found a single WordPress theme the default Propel themes actually worked well with. Propel 2.0 made it easy (for anyone with basic knowledge of PHP and an ounce of motivation) to integrate with your theme (granted, I haven’t provided any documentation on this, but it will be out in the coming days). Plus, with even less effort, you can use the jQuery UI theme roller to create your own theme. I opted for this route because it allows for full customization and it is one less feature I have to maintain, which allows me to concentrate on more imperative project management features.

Can you take a screenshot of what you are seeing? The progress bars *should* appear, and I’m not sure what you mean about the clients. You are more than welcome to go back to 1.7 – there are no security vulnerabilities that were patched in 2.0 that you need to be concerned with.

Visit my site at https://www.jmdezigns.com and create a user account then go to Project Status, to see what v1.7 looks like (already rolled back) with one of the old themes. I will then upgrade to 2.0.3 so you can see what I meant with the new layout. Alternatively, send me your email address and I can send you the screenshots.

Thanks, I see what the problem is. If you deactivate the plugin and reactivate it the theme setting should kick in. If not, you can go to the settings page and copy/paste the “default” value. However, the theme you were using was removed, so you would have to create a custom theme (or download one of the jQuery UI themes) using the theme roller from jQuery UI and set the .css URL on the options page.

Thank you John! Restarting the plugin solved that problem. Now, can I use the themes from v 1.7? I really liked the “Striped Tie” theme (or something like that)?

Ignore my last question John. Got everything to work just perfectly now, and have my “Black-tie” theme on as well. You are my hero of the day!!

Great! The reason you had to deactivate and reactivate the theme was because register_activation_hook does not get fired when the plugin is updated as I anticipated (which is used to set the default theme URL).

Provided the theme is not in the propel plugin directory, it will not be affected in subsequent updates. I’d recommend placing the jQuery UI theme (black tie in your case) in your WordPress themes directory. Then set the stylesheet URL in the settings to https://www.jmdezigns.com/wp-content/themes/maximum/black-tie/<style&gt;.css
