[Plugin: Promotion Slider] Slider faulty after 3 excerpts

    This is a strange one. The slider has worked perfectly for some time but suddently developed an issue this week. Although it works perfectly in modern browsers it develops a fault in IE 6,7,8. The slider looks normal at start up but, when it reaches the 3rd promotion, the ‘continue reading….’ link capitalises and the slider returns to the first promotion with an overlapping text without progressing to the 4th promotion. It only does this in earlier versions of IE and I can’t even choose the promotion from the slider navigation.

    I’ve deactivated each plug-in to see if that was the problem and I’ve deleted the promotion plug in and reinstalled it. I’ve upgraded to the latest version of WP so i don’t know what else I can do.

    Any ideas?

    Did you deactivate all your plugins (except the promotion slider) at once, or one at a time? Did you try switching back to the default WordPress theme? Here is a quick guide on troubleshooting plugins.

    It would also be helpful if you posted a link to the slider on your site so we can see the problem in action.

    Hi, we are experiencing a similar problem – all looked good with the slider at first and then doing this text/title overlap and not changing the image. Yes we have the latest version of WP and your plugin…we have tried de-activating and re-installing also, also deleted another slider we had running….we want to have this running on the homepage to make our products look good

    Thanks Micah. I disabled all plug-ins and activated only the promotion slider. After re-creating each promotion, the problem stopped but when my client published another promotion, the problem resurfaced.

    I’ve now re-created the promotions again and it’s working again for now. I’ll keep you posted if it goes Pete Tong again

    Thanks for the link, but you have a ‘Coming Soon’ page up right now. I assume only logged in users can see the actual content.

    just taken the front ‘under construction’ screen off so you can see the website and the bug problem on the slider which is on our home page.

    At first glance it looks like the slider is working but if you are on another tab/website and then return to our site after 5 minutes, the slider is malfunctioning…

    It seems this person – see below – has the same problem…

    Despite running the latest version of WordPress, it appears that you are running an older version of jQuery on the front end of your site. This is likely due to the theme you are using loading up an older version.

    You can try temporarily switching to the TwentyEleven theme and testing the slider. You should be seeing version 1.7.1 of jQuery load on the front end.
