maybe your uploading to the wrong folder. Thats the most likely explanation

    nope thats not it
    its in the wp-content/plugins folder
nothing shows up in the plugins section of the plugins management in the admin panel

and you’ve tried other plugins as well?

the thing might be that it isn’t a valid plugin file. A valid plugin file has to have several headers to be seen in the admin panel and activated.

    Got a link?

Do the plugin files have permissions that will allow your web server to see (read) them?

ive tried several, some of them from my previous wordpress version
    nothing shows up

I am also having this problem on a GoDaddy server. Everything in WordPress works except for the plugins. I get the plugin not available error after loading them into the plugins directory. All of my permissions look good. I have seen other posts in this forum regarding this but nothing seems to help, any suggestions??
    Thanks!

I enabled the “Hello Dolly” plugin, and the file is already there in the plugins folder, yet nothin shows on my web page. Please Help?
Another problem I have is that my Sidebar is way at the bottom of the page, I want it to be next to the posts/comments…Please help.
And last problem is that, I want to create a sitemap so that I can submit my URL at Google for my site search… PLEASE PLEASE help me… thank you

I’ve had the same problem with the geo plugin required for googlemapping of posts. It was up there before upgrading. I removed it (cleared out all plugins). Now I tried uploading the files again, and can’t get the plugins page to list the geo plugin.

I’ve tried setting full permissions on the geo.php file, but still no joy.
