Not sure if this is what you are trying to do, but here goes:
Postie is a fairly complex piece of work, so all kudos to the developer to get it running so well.
1. You can set it up so that all posts arrive as ‘Draft’.
That way they won’t appear on your blog until you select ‘Publish’. You’ll have to change the status to ‘Private’ in the posts screen.
2. You really need a separate email address that nobody else will know about, or send to. Otherwise, forget it.
NB: ‘Alias’ email addresses don’t seem to work.
First, check the ‘test’ function until it says your settings are OK.
Then send yourself test emails until the email content
shows up when you manually check for email input.
As with most WP plugins, the developer pitches the instructions to techie people.
After a lot of stuffing around with settings, it finally works well.
It’s a huge advantage to just fire off a post idea in a few lines then complete the post later in WP.
