[Plugin: Post Expirator] Insert expiration time with custom field?

The plugin currently stores the expiration date as a unix timestamp in the custom field “expiration-date”. So, in theory – yes.

What would be the format for the date

This is no longer accurate. The current version schedules a cron event for each post, so just setting the meta value will not do anything.
